San Dimas Canyon

Solo 36 miles with 2.083 ft gain. Decided to do some road/street riding today just to see if I still can on my Cannondale with different gearing from my Madone. Felt pretty good. Did feel it on a couple of steep grades though ha ha ha! But that is probably more from not doing much climbing lately. But felt good.

Covina park on Glendora avenue to Claremont and back tossing in Wheeler area and San Dimas Cyn. There is a group on facebook that has interested me into attending a ride. Hopefully soon so I had to see how I would do on my oldie Mr. Beanz mobile.

Ran across a few friendly people. I also have to mention, so many cyclists run across butt hole drivers but I have the opposite experiences. Just about every intersection, stop, what have you, the drivers stop and let me go or wave me on. Starting today's ride, I pulled out of the park onto the sidewalk fiddling with my computer powering it up. I didn't realize there was a crosswalk near me. Next thing I know, two cars stopped and waited for me to cross. I wasn't even aware so it took a few seconds for me to realize it. So I just crossed the street and waved thanks ha ha ha! Kind of playing it off ha ha ha!

Then another driver pulled up on my right at an intersection as I was towards the left planning to go straight. He rolled up and said, "HEY you Old Fart!" Ha ha ha, so many friendly people out there.

Some peoples I seed out there! :-P

Hope to be able to ride at his age.

Nice new bottle fill station at SD park.

Of course dinner with Gina after the ride. Boy, it sure was good today. Mexico Lindo in Ontario.

Did try a little place in downtown Covina called Domestic BBQ  recommended by a coworker.  Not bad, brisket,  ribs, potato salad for 2, only $27 and I'd have to say better than Lucille's and much cheaper.  Didn't care for the cornbread.  But the wings were saucy.  I'd go back.
