Riding Boujee in California

Solo 20 miles on SGRT heading south to Downey.  WHY, WHY WHY , is it always windy both ways?🤣

Of course I run into Eyemage riding a Pinarello saying that I'm Boujee! 😆😄😆

But always a good ride even if it's windy and I run into Eyemage. 😁

I did do a very short break at the park so I was way ahead of schedule before running into Eyemage.  But BOY, that guy can talk! 😁

But we've missed encounters on the trail in the past. So he says this time he looked at every Mexican that went by till he found me! 😁😁😁

A little Sizzler after the ride.

This is why I don't care for the upgraded Black Bibs. The upgrade feature le band is really sloppy around my knees. 🤣

One thing I will want to say is, Terry Sucks !!!
Enjoying The Fly since 2005, $60, $70, and even $80 within a few years span, I enjoyed Terry immensely. So over the last few years, I debated on buying one after trying a new one in 2016 (?) Did nothing for me but make me thing Terry really went cheap on their material seeing it wasn't nearly as comfy as before.

Then recently, the prices skyrocketed! Debating over 6 months of so, I gave in paying $180 for a new Fly.  Really sucks! Been a year now and I just can't get comfy on it. So I finally bought another Spoon Charge saddle, relief version. Trying a new version though I have enjoyed the regular model for a couple years.  Someone mentioned the Spoon Charge saddle on a cycling forum and I thought , no way can a $25 saddle be as comfy as a high end. I was pleasantly surprised trying the first one. Then I bought 2 more within a month. A second for my Cannondale and a third for the tandem.

But still I wondered about the Terry till I gave in, big mistake. So lesson learned. Returned to the Spoon Charge. This one was $35 but the regular is about $30 now. Still have them on my other bikes. So now, back to all 3 with the Spoon.

Did my first ride yesterday and sure enough, much better than the Terry, first ride.  A 40 miler but today, being a little more tender from yesterday, it helped me fine tune the setup. A few millimeters adjustment here and there, sliding it forward as well and voila! Felt super good today and pretty sure I got it dialed in spot on! So a nicer ride today feeling even more comfy than yesterday.

I see other saddles on the net, new one Zeta. I look at the ads just out of curiosity and jeezus, $295 for a saddle? Others as well, crazy prices. Just can't see spending that much only to be disappointed again. And yeah, last 4 pair of shorts are all pretty new over the last couple of months so can't take any of the blame off the Terry.

BTW, Eyemage did notice my lights today. He said I have always had better lights than he does. Well yeah, 5 headlights from Niterider, to Cygolite, and Rock Bros! Pretty good selection so heck, maybe he is correct, I am a bit Boujee! Ha ha ha!

Suck face Terry !!! $180

The new Spoon Charge saddle, much better at $35

Aimee on Vacation

Actually, last month for her birthday, from what I understand. Aimee on vacation in Egypt. I am posting this as people still ask me about Aimee, her vacations and well being. I'm guessing she is doing fine as she continues with her vacations to other countries and special places. I have had 4 peeps inquire about Aimee. I believe it was Jimbo, Eduardo, Danny, and I know Bad Bob was always interested in her outings.

This time it was Egypt. We texted back and forth so that she could tell me a bit about her trip. She says so much history and an amazing trip.

Some of Aimee's descriptions of the pics.

Abu Simbel. It was originally located right on the Nile, but they had to move it up to higher ground block by block because they built a dam on the Nile and it would be completely flooded.

Mummified crocodiles

Karnak temple in Luxor.

This is inside one of the Pharoah's tombs. It's incredible how much color survived.

Aimee's new puppy. Couple of months ago and has grown a ton already.

You know Aimee, always on cool vacations to cool places. Me, only Luxor I know is in Vegas  ha ha ha!  Thanks to Aimee for some cool stuff. I asked permission to post her material because I know some of you will enjoy her amazing pics.

Cranky Old Bastard Tour

Cranky Old Bastard Powered by Fajitas Tour. 😋 A short ride relaxing and spinning up the 🦵 legs getting ready for work tomorrow. 🤣 Of course powered by Fajitas last night with Gina. 🥰

You know what really bugs me? Some dude going by while I was re entering the trail after my break at the park. I get on the trail and he goes flying by. I'm going very slow checking my lights and saddle bag making sure all is good. He's ahead of me looking back like he thinks I'm racing him. I just cruised letting him pull away not wanting to play the game.

Of course later, I catch up to him and his aero bars. He sees me coming and stands up to crank away looking back at me. OK, I have no interest in playing games, just getting in my exercise. He's doing pretty good so I expect him to pull away but then he fades. Yeah, I know what's next.  He's  been trying his hardest to stay away  but I roll by him anyway, just holding my pace.

He jumps on my wheel so I turn around telling him to go ahead if he's going to go but that I don't play drafting games. He says OK then races around for 2 minutes ha ha ha! I just rolled by him again and I guess he knew at that point he wasn't the stud he thought he was ha ha ha! Freaking clowns can't ever just do their own workout.

My Relive Video

And that, DO IT YOURSELF HAIRCUT 💇‍♂️ 😆😄😆

At the mall nowadays,  a simple haircut STARTS at $40. Imagine how much I've saved over the past  2 years cutting my own hair. Honestly,  it comes out better than when I go to a shop. I'm happy 😊

Jimbo and Beanz on the SGRT

Good ride with Jimbo today.  37 miles from Pico gold course to the top of the trail and back. I had been thinking about inviting Jimbo on a ride but he's a busy man. So Friday, I had been thinking about contacting him for a San Gabe trail ride but didn't. So I was surprised when he contacted me Friday evening asking if I had plans to ride. Sure! So we met at the golf course and headed out North on the trail.

His family was attending the Renaissance Fair at the Santa Fe Dam so he wanted to head up that way.  We did. I'm always happy to ride with Jim as he's a good safe controlled rider. No worries about getting taking out by dangerous  moves. Also willing to help share the load. Heck, best type ever. So we worked well together and it made the ride go by quickly. Heading up we rode pretty much side by side just cruising at a decent pace. On the way down, Jimbo picked it up a bit so I went with it.

Amazingly, Jimbo is 73 now and rides really strong. A good example of staying healthy into older ages. Hope I can do the same but only time will tell ha ha ha! Jimbo does run, swim, and cycle so he does put in a good effort towards the goal.

So another great ride with Jimbo!

....and a post ride meal with Gina. 😋

Beat the Rain on San Gabriel Trail

Solo 30 beating the rain. Too many weekends I've sat out having faith in the weatherman. This time I saw a 5 to 6 hour window of dry weather on a couple of sites so I went for it.

Ran into some joggers along the way and a few other riders. Using royalty free music so I don't have to worry about youtube. I guess it works ok!

Did the ride, first time I've gotten up early in a looooong time seeing we get up at 4 am for work. Usually get up about 8:30 to ride but today, if I want to ride, better get my butt out of bed ha ha ha!

Temp was 56 at the start and ended at 67. Nice day and I did beat the rain!

Then to dinner with Gina. And a little photo editing for Gina's Mom. Her  brother in the Navy back in 1946. A little newspaper obituary.  She wanted to print it out so I tried.

After having had to place my home computer in storage, I did just get a new laptop couple months ago. Nice Asus with enough memory and stuff to create videos once again. Not having my Powerdirector program, I tried a few free downloads. Worked OK but ended up trying Capcut last week. I like it!

Internet based though so it works off the net vs my PowerD that was a stand alone program. PD now is a subscription thing and I hate that. I don't want to have to pay every month. My PD version was about $70 and I didn't have to hassle with anything.

But now, with the Asus, it has a graphics card. I don't know much about that stuff but I have a CPU and a GPU. Looked into how to use them and I guess I got it. Read on the net where some people with big computers have trouble creating video clips. Some claim spending an hour to load a 2 minute video.

I'm creating an 8 minute video in about 2 minutes so I'm happy with this setup ha ha ha! And Capcut is really fast compared to the others and does not stick or fail when I use it. The free version, really cool once you figure it out.

So this is my first full video with Capcut since getting it last week. Got it figured out but still have to find a transition that I like having so many PRO offerings mixed in with the free transitions so it kind of blinds you when you look for the transition one started with. I'll have to memorize or write down names so I can search for them. Gets a little confusing trying to remember names while creating a video.
