9/15 GMR All By Myself

Took advantage of today and did GMR to the Village alone. I was expecting warm weather but very nice, thermo said 75 at the village. Not a bad ride, I was expecting it to be a bit tougher as I haven't done many village rides this year. Felt good most of the way after the first two heavy panting warmup miles as you can hear in the video. Heck, I felt so good I never stopped to stretch or take a pic, I just rode through to the village. All the posing was done on the return portion of the ride. Well other than shooting video and the narration on the way. Hmm, saw FryDaddy up there, said he'd be right back up but never saw him. He's prolly thinking I was only going to the shack.

GMR (Gina & ABEC)

Another GMR with Gina and ABEC Schleck (haha). Rather nice, a little dry but not as hot as expected IMO. Wasn't to Gina's liking today but she did well just to make it up like the rest of us! ABEC and I headed out a little further on GRR so that he could see what was in store for future rides. Gina took a break at the shack then headed out to meet us on GRR. She didn't get real far before we ran into each other so we all headed back together. Did meet a couple more motorcycle dudes. Ted with his thumbs up, or is that thumb ups? Hahaha! Either way, we did some chattin' about motorycle vs cylists BS. Looks like we're cool so I know atleast he won't run "me" over! Pays to have friends in high places, like GMR haha!

So who is ButtDutchBoy? I know Gina has a hard time getting the correct words out when she's tired. She mentioned that while ABEC and I were on GRR she ran into ButtDutchBoy at the shack! I guess he stopped for a minute or two before heading off to a game! I gotta meet this ButtDutchBoy haha!

SART 9/11/10

Met a forum member today, MLBFan, wife and son. Seemed like very nice people so we chatted a bit at the coast. Had a chance to ride around them for a while for some footage. Son was on an MTB pounding the pavement with knobbies and a loud hummmm! Also ran into George #1 for a bit and some riding with ABEC till he took of to lunch with George #2, poor guy haha! Kidding, George #2 is quite the character.

MTB Claremont Hills Wilderness Park- 2 Loops

Planning on a GMR ride but the moisture killed that. I waited a couple of hours but it didn't dry up much so I headed to a place where I don't have to worry about cars sliding into my little self, the dirt. Worst that could happen would be a jogger tripping into me at 6 mph. Cool and a bit damp, light drizzle at times and some fog but still a nice ride. I felt pretty good on the climbs, all the GMR rides paying off! But man, the dirty DH skills are something that need to be kept up or you lose them fast. I was bit timid on the first DH. Gina's Blistuhs on her finguhs gave me an idea for the song hehehe!

GMR & Gina 9/6/10

Another fine day on GMR with Gina. Nice day, started cool and a bit foggy then SUN! Ran into TomBunn at the start for a pic and a few words. Gina was pretty happy that we ran into Annette and her Tri-Bud Steve, she's always up for a break while climbing GMR. Caught a glimpse of those Leaky Ftn Boyz...on GMR???

Kicked back at the shack then headed down only to run into LA RiverRat pushing his big 42 ring up GMR. First time meeting LA RiverRat, cool guy on a nice long ride. I wondered about the big gear but after following him back up the mtn for a short bit to get a clip, I noticed the yolked calves. OK, now I see how he pushes the biggie up the mountain! Gina descended much better this time, second time and she's getting better already! Heck, I thought the ride was over but at the bottom, she suggested we ride towards Big Dalton just to see what was there. My first time so I took a couple pics, nice little picnic area out there.

Herb on SART 9/4/10

Herb was in the area so he decided to accompany us on a SART ride. Nice day, hot inland but foggy and cool at the coast. Wow, didn't feel like coming home today. Herb's been working out! He was riding strong today and making it look much easier that his rides a couple years back. I don't think it's the bike haha! Gina did very well too, that one GMR ride is paying off and I think she wants more hehe!

Also ran into Eric Anderson for a few words at the coast and couple of fly-by's on the trail. Met up with Jackie too. Wow, she was riding strong when we caught her on the trail. Got lots of guts getting out there to fight the wind alone. Well, nice rid eand it's always a pleasure to meet up with the everpleasant Herb (or is that 'Erb ? haha!)

GMR 09/01/10

A hot day on GMR with ABEC and Hillbasher. Also ran into FryDaddy on the mountain, dude is an animal time trialing up GMR. He rode part way back up with us and still it was tough to keep up with the guy in his cruise mode. I'm not sure if he rode with us cause he likes us or for added mileage needed to keep his Big Dawg status on bikejournal haha!

Of course it was ABEC's first time on GMR. His first time with only 5 or 6 weeks of riding and the dude was smokin'! I say another couple of weeks and he'll be way too fast for me to ride with. Darn young guys!
