I am pleasantly surprised! I have read a ton of reviews over the last couple of years on various forums. I did not think it could be true that an inexpensive saddle could feel really good. For $28!!:-O
I did a short 15 mile ride tonight dialing it in. I set it up on the trainer and so when I sat on the saddle the first time actually riding the bike, I was like WOW! Thought I had it perfectly set up but after a couple miles, I tilted the nose slightly down as I usually am pretty close to level. So I turned the micro adjust bolt about half a turn and BAM! It was sweet!
I didn't have any discomfort though it was only 15 miles so the longer rides will tell. Have another 25 miler set up on Thursday night with Erik and his crew so that will give it a little break in time. So hopefully by the weekend, a longer ride will be pretty cool on the saddle.
I had the feeling I had when I first sat on the Terry Fly. I set out to do a 60 miler but ended up doing 100 it was so comfy. haven't sat on a saddle and had that feeling since then. I have had 3 Terry Fly saddles over the years starting in 2005. Each time $59, $69, $79 but now they are outrageous at $175. I can not see myself paying that just because of the principle of the thang!
So this was nice and for $28?! Heck, if it works on a loooong ride, I got it made. If it works on a 50 miler, I got it made as that is pretty much as much as I do lately. Though not soft and not much padding, it just fit really well. I remember having a Coda saddle when I bought my Cannondale back in 1998. I didn't care for it over the first 5 rides or so. But after a short break in period, I loved it. This saddle seems similar but much better than the Coda out of the box. I know plenty of people hate those saddles but it was one of the very few that worked for me. Heck, I had a Selle Italia back in 95 that I paid $125 back then. I gave it about 1,000 miles and that thing was a brick. It ended up in the closet for a few years till it came up in conversation one day. Some dude really like them so I gave it to him. Take it, stop the nightmares I had of it ha ha! So if this new saddle breaks in even a little bit, I think I'm in for a good thing like the hundreds of great reviews I've read online.
The strip in the back is reflective. During light hours, one would not even know it is there. Blends in with the rest of the saddle. When I got it., I had to put a light on it to find it. Said reflective strip in the description but I could not see it. I like it too. So hopefully it does the job for me.
