Solo 35 for the Simps

Let me make this simple for the simps who lack reading comprehension.

See Mr. Beanz ride his bike.
Mr. Beanz rode 35 miles.
Mr. Beanz felt good.
Mr. Beanz made and ate breakfast.

Wow, amazing at the ass hats that lack comprehension then try turning things around into something hoping to cause trouble I guess. Had another bitch ass hat leave a stupid comment on my FB bike group post. Age gap between me and my bike but they're to stupid to realize it and try turning it into a post about me having a younger girl, I guess. Too stupid to comprehende' so I made it simple for the simps on this one ha ha ha!

Update edit: Ha ha ha, now the dumb bitch is commenting on my FB post that my breakfast looks gross. OK, I replied, you should try it, it will more than likely improve your performance from what I've seen on you RELIVE videos (linked to FB).

Living in Cathedral City and riding area, she's doing 20 mile rides at 15 mph. C'mon man, I've done Tour de Palm Springs, and easy ride solo 3 or 4 times at 17.3 average speed. So yeah, make fun of my breakfast just to be a beotch but it might benefit you to eat this gross looking stuff ha ha ha!
________________

But anyway, felt great on the ride! I thought it was a little windy heading up to the mountains but I wasn't pushing too hard. Made it to the top then headed down and surprisingly, it wasn't nearly as hard as I expected thinking I had a tailwind heading up. I was expecting a big headwind on the way down but nope, quite nice. But as I have mentioned before, getting back in control of my sugar seems to make a huge difference on the way I feel.

Had a great time coming down eventually hitting a headwind but still feeling good. I will admit, I mis my ice cream though ha ha ha! Just won't be worth it in the long run if I don't take control now, knowing too many relatives who didn't and it all ended up......BAD. If I can avoid some of this trouble, I'll be proud of myself.

Made my breakfast, 2 eggs, turkey sausage, and a slice of bread. Sure seems like a lot of food nowadays having gotten more used to eating smaller dishes. Not to mention, having been using any electrolyte type drinks on the rides, no bars, gu or anything of the sort. I am using the little chew things, one every 7 miles throughout. Backing off near the end of the ride hoping to avoid any kind of sodium or phosphorus type of overdoses, as I've mentioned before.

I have seen several posts about cyclists taking in way too many sources. Gels, gu, drinks, bars, goodies, treats, way too many. Heck, I remember on some cycling forums, some posters mentioning taking in something every 10 miles.

Wow, I can do 40 easily with nothing other than water. I will try a diluted mix of Liquid IV when it gets hot again, But for now, I don't think I'm sweating much at all with a 75-80 degree temp. But when 990 to 100 comes, I'm thinking I might need something on longer rides.

On a better note. Making history today. Aren't we all? Funny that people are here one day telling life stories then they are gone. It's all history now. Well today, breakfast 2 eggs, turkey sausage, and a slice of bread. Lunch grapes and a cucumber. Tried to eat the cuc without vinegar but couldn't. Needs something like vinegar to make it enjoyable. Then had Cecee touch up the back of my hair line getting ready for the weekend. Wow, crazy having white hair, but at least I have hair at my age ha ha ha! This day is going down in history because someday, it will all be gone and a memory of the day I took a pic of the back of my head ha ha ha! Oh yeah, and can't help but be proud of my homemade haircut. Enjoying life and trying to stay healthy, while I can. 😄

Short 20 and Age Gap Relationships

How do you feel about Big Age Gap Relationships? I will be 62 in May and she just turned 28 in January. My trusty Cannondale CAD3 ha ha ha! Love this bike!

Gee, always windy lately but I did beat the rain. Solo quickie 20 seeing it's supposed to R**N on Saturday. Lousy forecast today wanting a longer ride but settled for a short one just in case. Used my Garmin Edge 500 as well today just to see if it still works ha ha ha! Skipped breakfast being in a rush so I settled for this protein bar. Good and gentle on us older folk with delicate dentals. 😁

People are so freaking uptight! I posted this on a fb group. One ass hat lady commented that it is unnecessary to post our ages in a bike group. Reminds me of those drunks in the cycling forums who ask if I'm drunk but yet admit to drinking too much and others doing drugs. Yeah, I'm the guy with the problem ha ha ha! Another poster who tells me how I should treat Gina but yet, at an old age, she's moving on to other men. Guessing her long time partner got tired of her sheot ha ha ha! Ain't that strange? I do everything wrong according to those ass hats but yet Gina and I have been together 37 years, never a drinker or drugs but constantly judged by others, who are actually F ups! Like one rider said that I met, an excellent rider, says he avoids cycling forums as most is all BS. I see it for sure. Heck, one of the mods and/or admins is some dumbass beotch that doesn't even cycle. I guess walking and not knowing much about actual riding a bike makes her an expert on cycling forums. More like kissing ass ha ha ha!

I actually like these, like those chocolate wafer cookies. Easy to eat, think I got them at Target but they can be found online with a search as well. I ate it before my ride so it was good. I did eat one mid ride last week. Good but it crumbles very little but the chocolate can get a lil messy. But easy on the teefs.

BTW, looking at some light hardware, I came across these Cygolite mounts that I already have but thought I'd sahre. The one with the rubber mount, I use on the back of my helmet. Wraps nicely around the very back column of the helmet, angle it down as one rides the handlebars to be seen by drivers. Works nicely and though I have used other setups, I didn't realize this one in my stuff box would work nicely. Pretty inexpensive too!

This one I bought specifically to use on the seat post mounting the red blinkie Cygolite. I removed the screw so it works just like a GoPro mount.

I used a seatpost mount with an extension and a go pro mount adapter. Then used a GoPro screw to mount the adapter then slipped the light in place. Works great and it extends far enough and angled to avoid the seat pack to be seen well at night.  One thing about seat post lights is that they are usually blocked by the seat pack and I need one at night so this idea worked well. Everything is clear of one another and the light is in clear view.

Oh, and I do have a few extensions in different lengths to extend far enough back to clear the pack. I do like my little GoPro mount stuff, just tickles me messing with the stuff.

You can see it here on my seatpost. Black seat post clamp, black extension, the mount held on with a red head screw and the light clipped into place clearing my seat pack nicely.

The black plate that mounts on to the rack removed of course. Only the clip section that has the go pro type mount tabs.

First Paid Vacation Ride

Easy FIRST Paid Vacation Ride . Solo 23 easy miles from the Pico Rivera Golf Course to the Santa Fe Dam and back. Cool and dark but very nice. Felt good! Made my breakfast, 2 eggs, turkey sausage and a slice of bread. I must be getting old because it seemed like a lot of food.

Was a good ride though, feeling great like Tony the Tiger ha ha ha!  Thought I had a tailwind going uphill but turned around and didn't feel that bad either. So either I was feeling good or the wind loved me this day. But I'm thinking the eating well is paying off bigtime. Sadly I see so many around me going downhill with issues that should be given some attention but it's rough for some to muster up the will to take care of themselves, sadly.  But eating and controlling my intake is key at my age. Just about 62 and feeling great, can't ask for more, I'll take it! Comfortable on the bike and feeling strong, nothing wrong with that!

A

Kind of cool, these graphs. One can see where I went across the dam, nice and flat.

Then after dinner, coffee at the mall with my friend Naomi.

22 Road Miles for Easter

Easy Easter ride. Covina to Claremont. 22 miles trying to keep my heartrate in zone 2,..... 120 to 140 beats per minute. But tough when you're already tired from the windy day before seeing the HR goes up for every little thing. 🤣 Always have to do a little hill twice if you want a picture 📸.

Just read an article about keeping the HR down to zone 2 to get into shape.  Though I believe it's for a longer period,  thought I'd see what it was like.  But again,  my HR was heading up if I wiped my nose ha ha ha.

Relive Video

Around the Garey Ave area on Bonita, I was passed by an older couple. I saw the dude go by and thought, wow he's doing good! Then the lady passed me and I saw the big motor on the back wheel. Oh ok but the dude is still kicking butt. Then I caught back up at a red light and noticed he had that roadie with the motor in the downtube disguised as a real road bike.  Wearing Bobies Bike club jerseys. Hmm, don't think I'd ride with a club that allowed motors, just not motivating in my opinion.  But to each his own, just not something I think of highly.

Up the hill.

Setting up the camera for a pic 📸 and a repeat on the hill. 🤣

My little case/pencil box (?) I bought at Alien Jerky on the way to Vegas. Only $3.99, has a divider, mesh pockets and slots for pens or a stylus. Not bad considering I bought a Switch box to carry my GoPro for about $30. A smaller wannabe to store my car stereo face when I need to hide it, for about $12 (I really like it)

But this little alien dog thing is kinda trippy but I hope to find something to put in it whether it be go pro mounts, or screws.

God told me on this Easter Day, "go ride your bike but get to the park early before all the parking spaces are taken by Mexican people!". I did. 😄

Then Jesus said, "return home to eat BBQ ribs, baked beans, and homemade potato salad on this Easter Day!". I did. 😄

I was not really hungry but then Jesus shouted, " YOU EAT RIGHT NOW OR YOU DON'T EAT AT ALL!!!! ". 😯

Oh wait, that wasn't Jesus, that was Cecee! 😆😄😆

It was all good stuff! 😋

Windy Windy Saturday

40 solo miles on the trail, SGRT. Really rough out there and about a 15.5 average I think. Somehow, I must have made some kind of error pausing my GPS at the coast. Having a 15.4 when stopped. Restarted the unit and immediately saw a 12.0 average speed. WTH, not sure but it wasn't accurate. But heading back north was just as rough as heading south today. Few points in either direction, I was doing 12 with a HR of 155. Usually I'm doing a pretty good speed at 140 but today, pretty rough.

I did catch one dude from about 1/2 mile behind leaving the coast. I'm not racing, just trying to survive and make it back at my pace. The dude saw me as I was approaching then tried to lift his pace. He did for about 1/2 mile then faded. Keeping my pace, I caught him and as soon as I rolled by, he took my wheel.  Uhh, no!

I don't see any reason to carry another rider who is more than likely not going to be any help to me. So I told him that I ride alone and if he wants to go ahead, be my guest, otherwise, I ride alone so......

No desire to ride with this type of rider. in my experience, the dude will suck my wheel, do a short pull then duck behind me again saying he is unable to maintain the pace. So that leaves me in front fighting the wind most of the time. Then when it's his turn to finally come up to the front, he'll turn off into a park saying this is his stop. Happened so many times before that I know I'm better off riding alone.  I did let the guy go ahead then he faded so when I passed the second time, he didn't take my wheel.

Sure enough, at the end of my ride, packing up my bike, posing for pics, loading my ride on Strava, he never showed up so I'm guessing I was right thinking what might happen, would happen.  I don't benefit from carrying weaker riders so I'd rather just ride alone.

And I will say, I never ever, never ever jump a wheel when I'm out riding. Only time is if I'm riding with a friend like Tony, then a rider or two jumps in line. Then I will play along but when I ride alone, I do my own stuff. Not one of those weak ass wheelsuckers ha ha ha!

But either way, a good workout and a good ride. Then a little meal with Gina at Sizzluh! Did record some video but nothing interesting other than my Coming and Going images ha ha ha!

Sunday Foothills with Tony

Tony right off Vegas vacation but I had to work hard trying to keep him in sight on the climbs.🤣😂🤣 But another good ride and working the heart rate this time.  Had 1965 feet at the end of our ride so I hopped back on for another few to get 2k. 😄

9 PRs, I'll take it ha ha ha! Tony just returned from Vegas the day before so I'm surprised he did the ride. I went last week and still trying to recover. Two weeks off the bike so I was happy with the ride. I figured we would get 5 more miles but Tony figured out a way to go straight down Glendora heading back. I think he was tired. Maybe a good thing because I was tired too. I did give a little effort more this time as shown by my heartrate on the ride. Tony has always been a good climber and being about 80 pounds lighter, I tried keeping up on most the hills. Some steep stuff and in San Dimas Cyn, he pulled away but I could see him most of the time. I was thinking I might catch up once we got up the steep stuff but I saw him standing and looking like he was doing a good effort ha ha ha! He says he was tired at the top, I was too!

But always a good ride with Tony and it was all good and fun!

The youtubie video

Probably didn't have the best energy food the day before.  Getting used  to eating good so the stuff I used to eat makes me sick. Not good for cycling.

But if I stick with my Sizzluh 6 oz steak and potatoes,  I feel good,  healthy,  and clean.
