Solo Sunday Cruise

Nice easy ride today. 20 miles. A flatter ride from Pico towards the coast. 😄 15.8 average speed.

Then tried a new Mexican restaurant.  Nope  not for me though it was OK. But a late trip to burger King 🤴 was much better ha ha ha 😂.

I am digging the new Bryton GPS  though.  Does everything my Garmin did and more for $110.

Solo 40 Pico to Azusa Mountains

Solo 40 miles from Pico Rivera to the Azusa mountains playing around with the Bryton GPS. Nice day but windy. I barely survived. 🤣 Amazing to me that the socks were 3 pair for $2.99 at Walmart about 2 years ago and they're still the best. Not t mention marked left and right so I don't get confused. 😁

To lunch, street 🌮 tacos with Gina after.  Then an ice cream at the mall.  I earned it. 😁

EZ 20 Brighton Ride

20 miles. Easy relaxing ride trying out the new Bryton GPS 320 (about  $100) works like a Garmin but less expensive.  I like it. And new GPS mount and light mount $12. I'm a budget rider. 😁 AND  the little black rubber cover for the GPS $10. Yes, I'm a California boy. 😆

Finally washed my truck. Been too long.

32/8 Ride

32 miles with Tony and Mark then another solo 8 to get my 40. When they dropped off I had a 16.7 average speed.  But heading north after the train station,  it got really windy on the return. I dropped from 16.7 to 16.3 really quick.

Saw Ron and Dixie heading to the coast as I stopped for a little break.  Around Lincoln and they were heading to the coast.  Good luck with that and starting late.

I was testing out a new GPS today.  Bryton 320. Wow, so many settings I read the instructions and still had to go back after the ride to make adjustments.

Really quick fast connection and lightening fast connection with strava.  One thing that bothered me with the XOSS. I liked it but  sometimes the connectivity was slow so the Bryton is much better.  And like a Garmin,  8 data functions with 5 pages.  More than I need.

So overall,  a good day and a good dinner after with Gina. 😋

Solo Sat 40 Lazy Sunday

Solo 40 miles at 16.3 average speed.  10 20 percent chance of rain but looked ok and if I don't ride, I know it won't rain all day tgen I'd be bummed.

So I had to head off alone. Off for 2 weeks being in Laughlin last weekend,  I actually felt really good.

But afterwards,  went to Outback with Gina.  Then Sunday morning   a bigger chance of rain in the forecast,  I plan to skip the ride. Of course waking up, the percentage lowered to 5 and 10. But looking at strava,  another local posted a video riding in wet weather so I for sure skipping the ride now.

So go to eat breakfast and sure enough,  the day seems better so let's go get Gina's car washed.

But I'm not so heart broken about not riding,  I got a new GPS being delivered Monday so I don't mind waiting.

I've been using this XOSS  for about a year now and it awesome for $30. But works more like a cateye computer.  Only 3 readings per screen.

I ordered a Bryton 320 for about $100. More like a Garmin,  8 pages 8 readouts per page. So what the heck, time for a new toy.  Could have gotten mapping on the 430 for 30 bucks more but not into mapping and just another function that I won't use so why worry about it.

Plus I picked up this hb mount for $12 on ebay.  Looking like it's going to be the best one so far. Got a K Edge in 2022 for $60. For $12, this is the closest so far. Worked great on the first ride.

So a lazy Sunday but I've got plenty of time to ride in good weather coming up, I hope! 😆😄😆

River's End Cafe reopened as the Beach House.  I've heard it's a little more ritzy but I don't care   I'll never eat there. 😄

NO RAIN NO RAIN  NO RAIN!!! 🙏🙏🙏
