Short Sweet Night Ride with Gina

Stretching the legs tonight, 10 miles. I bought some extensions for the go pro handle bar mounts. I wanted to test to see if it moves the go pros far enough forward to eliminate the brake hoods showing in the view. I didn't use any stabilization in the video to see how it works. Not too bad, have to see how it looks in the day time. But some of this is with the hand held tripod so that may be a bit shaky in this video. Still learning how to get the best out of the video. I don't have the modern go pro stuff of today with the stabilizer stuff. I still use the Hero2 and 3 I bought back in 2012 ha ha! I'm old school and do the stabilization editing in the post production. I dunno, just can't justify spending another few hundred for a modern go pro just yet. :-P

Ha ha ha! I'm one of those guys who doesn't like to go out and have fun unless I know I have an extra rubber or two laying around! :-P

GAME - JMT ....Con Artist Ebay store

Another Edit: So July 6th, another woman sends a message. Hello, I am Yolanda, is there an issue and how can we sole it?

WTF!!! You're kidding me right? So I go back and explain the situation. Almost 2 months long now. She asked if she could refund me the $3. Yeah, you guys really suck! I have asked for the refund or a small part for a month now. Other lady promised to send but never did and would not answer. YOU GO BACK AND READ THE 20 EMAIL then figure it out. She does then say she will refund my $3. Then she actually does! WOW!!! As I explained to her, it is not about the money at this point, the fact the other lady jacked me, lied, avoided me. Now I got my money but I'm still not taking the video down because that is how bad the experience was dealing with them.

If some chick takes my money, rips me off, what do I care what her excuse is if there are others who can handle the situation? WTH!!!

EDIT: This is too funny. After 20 email, got another message the next day from a woman, I thought it was a dude, saying she was in the hospital having a baby. OK! So I explained the issue again calling her a crook and an option to send a small $3 item to even up the score. I also pointed out the video and asked, do you like my video? Ha ha ha! Then today, 7-6-20, I get another message from jmt saying, this is Yolanda, is there an issue, how can I help? WTF!!!!! Yes dumbass, look at the 20 or so previous email/messages and figure it out.

I've had really good luck with ebay stores other than this one. 20 email messages after the delivery date. I ordered 2 items, got the notice saying it was delivered. One package that the seller must have posted contained two as it registered delivered. NOPE!

I sent several message, no answers. Finally after a few days ebay could jump in. So I filed a claim, seller finally answered asking me to close the claim offering several items. I only want one, only what is mine. I offered alternate choices, he accepted so I closed the claim to be nice.

Then the moron wouldn't answer again. Lesson learned, my bad! First time with a moron like this on ebay so now I know better.

Anyway, several days I send messages, no response. I have one item to review left so I use leverage saying I will leave a bad review. He answers saying he never got my messages. OK moron, they are all listed on ebay message center. Then says he was in the hospital, really sick. OK!

So I said send me these 3 little things that will total less than the item you did not send. BYW, the day I ordered the item, it vanished from his for sale list. I'm guess as I read on another review, he sells things he does not have, then guys like me get screwed not getting part of my shipment, then he does not respond.

Tired of his crap, I give him a bad review on the smaller item I still have open. Ebay sends me a refund for that item. So I contact the dude again and tell him he is a crook because he knows the item he did not send was the more expensive one. Not about the money at this point, $13. Now I know he is scum!

So I get a partial refund vs my total then he vanishes and will not answer. I'm contacting him because all the time he wasted of mine, I want all my money now. He will not answer so I send a message saying I will make a video about this scumbag. He actually answered asking me not to make the video ha ha

Here you go ass hole ha ha!

After a while it ain't even about the money. And I do like to make videos when people are ass holes! :-)

43 miles w/Tony

Wow, talk about death! Many know how many family members we have lost in the last year or two. Add another to the list. Not even a year ago my younger cousin of 47 died of a heart attack. Rough life and bad choices. But today, about 6 pm, another cousin passed away. My 62 year old cousin who looked really healthy. Just retired, had a good thing going and now, boom! So sad, life is short. One of my best cousins that I played with for years and years as a young child. Sweet Journey Bobby! :-/

43 miles at 17.0 average speed with Tony on the trail. Not bad considering we rode side by side most the time chatting. I wanted an earlier start seeing we usually start around 10:30-11:00 am when the wind is already kicking up. I had actually planned to do GMR aiming to get up at 5 am. But the stupid neighbors and their thumping music playing till 1 am doesn't help. I'm not sure if it was 1 am because that is when I fell asleep. Not sure how these people can have 3 day long birthday parties with the social distancing going on. People drive me nuts! Around here, the Mexican people shoot off the professional type fireworks all day and night long. Wow, and the cops don't do crap about it! Same with the loud noise! I have called the cops up to 6 times in one night because the neighbors crank up their sound systems crazy loud. You can hear the thumping of their sound systems from one side of our house to the other inside with double pane windows. I can put on earphones (not ear buds) but the cover the ear type with the large pad and still I can hear the sound thumping. One neighbor 5 houses away plays it so loud that I think they have a live band. Not only do they play all day, but all night till 8 am at times. I call the cops and they don't do a thing, don't show 8 out of 10 times. No wonder this world is screwed. Their are laws and rules but none of these illegals feel they need to follow them.

So I aimed for the early start but woke up at 5 am feeling like I blinked my eyes. Having a little fun last nigh, if you know what I mean, didn't help either ha ha!. Harder to get up in the morning. So I let Tony know I was going on the trail after all. Told him I'd meet him at ARTIC at 8 am. But I get on the freeway and they are doing construction. Great, bumper to bumper for about 6 miles going 5 mph. I could have got my bike from the back of the truck and rode faster than traffic ha ha! So yeah, I arrived at almost 8:30 thanks to traffic.

But we headed out early enough so that the wind was not too tough. Maybe closer to the coast we hit a stiffer headwind but not too bad. The way back was a tailwind I thought. I heard others say it was more of a side wind and not a tailwind but hey, it didn't hurt me too much so it's all good ha ha!

I would like to think that riding more is paying off but it could be there is less of a headwind earlier in the morning.

Did run into Joaquin and Rhio at the beach. Then Rhio rolled up to the parking lot a bit after we arrived. I thought for sure he would catch us after saying he was heading back right after us. Guy averages like 23 alone so I thought for sure but the tailwind must have helped ha ha!

25 miles at 15.7 average speed tonight on the Ladies and Gents Ride. Things are getting faster out here. Bigger group too. Nice evening rides. Mike showed up for the first time tonight and enjoyed it!

Got a chance to kick back a bit after the ride and chat with the Gents. So I snapped a few pics while I could.

Upland to Covina and back.

One dude was a total dick though. Some guy thought he was a bad ass, I guess! He shot out of the gate pulling the group at the front. I was back not in the pack but I heard someone say he was strong and pulling the group for a bit. No problem, I believe you.

Later I got blocked out by some chick who was fading and I was at the back on this section. Then the group split and I got a red light. I tried to catch the front group after having got blocked and a red light. I gained some but couldn't quite then some dude came around calls himself Marky Mark. He was strong. He went around me when I was at a red light, timed perfectly. So I pushed and got on his wheel. He was rolling! I stayed on his wheel till right before we caught the lead group. I couldn't hold his wheel rolling fast, maybe 24. I popped about 40 yards before we reached the lead group turning up heading up Glendora Ave. But I kept pushing up the hill and almost caught them but got another freaking red light.

But there was a quick regroup, at Cienega and Glendora, the 1 minute I needed to get back up. So we head across Cienega which is a gradual climb. Nothing steep but man, a 3 mile stretch that tests your lungs and legs. Couple guys ahead of me but I reel them in. One is a cool guy I met on SART couple weeks back. So I go around him then the dude who thought he was really something. Not sure what happened to him but big man was now fading and I was passing him. No big deal but the dude hops on my wheel and drafts me for about 1/4 mile recovering as there was also a headwind.

So he recovers, I guess then pulls up on my left side. Thinking he is going to pass me, I took his wheel in return. As I do he points to his right and says, "ride right here on my side!". OK, what!

So I tell the dude when I went passed him, he took my wheel. He didn't say anything. I said, did you or did you not draft me? He wouldn't answer so I said , wow I must be mistaken then because I saw you on my wheel. He didn't say anything and would not answer. OK dick head! I just rolled along his side and tried to punish him because he was trying real hard to match me ha ha! I have no problem with it as I  ride that way most the time but I was pushing hard. He kept looking at my face and of course, I  used the poker face with a grin to make him think I was just cruising haha! But he was a dick head and no way was I going to let him take my wheel, and he probably knew he couldn't even if he wanted to at that point knowing I'd give him a bunch of shit after he acted like a dick head. So it was actually kind of fun pushing the pace and playing the game putting him under pressure to keep up ha ha!

Easy 15 with Gina on the Tandem

15 just to spin up the legs, 13.8 average speed. Nice cool night air. Easy ride but man, for only having 171 feet of gain, it sure feels like some uphill. Not to mention it's hard to get some speed around this place. Took some video footage so I'll see if I can get a short video out of it. But did get some stills from the video for now!

                                                                       The Video

Cheap Azz Vented Hemet Strap (fixed)

So I get so pissed knowing that people take advantage of other people. I do my best to be nice but every now and then I run across someone that screws other people and I feel I need to answer back!

I've had great luck on ebay buying all kinds of stuff but there is always that one or two. I have made about 20 purchases and the last 2 were the butt faces. First a guy called game-jmt. I orderd a small hand held tripod handle to use on my rides as a hand held type mount instead of this little 4 inch tripod I use that actually works really well. Just this alum handle looked pretty cool Only $10. But I bought an alum buckle mount for $4, an alum short extension connector and tripod adapter for $4 (set), then the handle I wanted most of all. So my order arrives, my ebay says it was delivered but I only received the small items. WTH!

So I contact ebay and they file a claim. Seller answers and apologizes over and over. OK, how can we settle this he asks. For one, as soon as I ordered the handle, it vanished from the seller list. So I guess he may be out of stock at this point! So I said if possible, he can send a handle which was my original order or he could send me a couple of things that would be repeat items for me, since I liked them and one other item for about $4 that would make up the difference. That would mean I am losing about a buck but no big deal. More concerned about getting something for my money, the $10.

He says he will send the handle and the other items to keep me happy. OK, but sir, I do not expect anything more than what I paid for being the kind person I am. He says he will look into it and send me something one way or another. Days go by, no response. OK, am I waiting for something in the mail? Am I just sitting here like a moron waiting for nothing? So I send him a message and ask about the solution. NO ANSWER! So I send a couple more over the next couple of days. NO ANSWER!

So I send him a message saying I still have a feedback to fill out and I am certainly going to give him a negative review. SO he answers saying he never received my messages. Bull! I have them send a copy to my email as well. So I tell the guy I see he is jerking me around then he apologizes again. So he says this time he will for sure send the items. He says be patient and expect the package. Another few days go by and nothing! Again I message him and he does not respond. A hole!

So I go to the little feedback page and file a claim for an item but only $7, not the $10 and $3 shipping I should receive. Previously, the claim against the $10 item was closed as he sent a message asking me to close the claim as it hurt his business on ebay. I did out of good faith thinking he was going to settle the problem, being the kind guy that I am. But once I closed it, that is when his vanishing act started. Lesson learned! I forgot to mention that earlier, so a little out of sequence.

So I file the new claim then he responds, "really my friend, I was sick in the hospital so forgive me, i will take care of it this time for sure, so sorry!". Yeah, whatever, send my shit! I will, I promise my friend!

No answer next couple of day so I send him a dirty email saying I was going to make a negative video about his sorry ass and post it on youtube. I even sent a link to my video channel on yt and told him his story is going up in the next couple of days if he doesn't take care of the issue. He replies asking me to please not make the video and give him a chance. Seems he is really worried about it, not sure why though I have found a couple of other negative videos against his ebay store. This will be the third that I know of! So hey, it's actually fun for me making videos and giving me a chance to talk trash about some butt face, I'll take it!

So next thing I know, I get a refund notice from ebay saying I was sent a $7 refund for the $13 I spent. This was because I had closed out the larger item and only the $7 item claim was available to me. So I send the guy a message telling him what an ass he is and a crook knowing I lost $13, not $7 because of his dumb ass! So I tell him a few more unpleasant things and tell him that I will give him a chance to send the rest of the money by Monday night (tonight) or I will go on with the video seeing that would be much more entertaining to me than getting back another $6.

Heck, I get the fun of making a video and he gets some negative reviews, maybe lose a few purchases or send back my $6. I'm actually hoping he doesn't though he responded and asked me to not make the video and he will refund my money "later". Whatever that means, Monday as I asked? Some other day when he fucking feels like it? Whatever ass hole, you have till midnight tonight or I start production ha ha! Who cares, if 3 people watch it, I'll be happy. If he loses any business over it, I'll be happy seeing he deserved it. I think I have given him more than enough time to make things right.

But this next one, Borasell on ebay. Man, ass holes, I'm getting more irritated now thinking back on these jerks. Borasell posted a vented helmet strap for $6. I could get a go pro for $11 but heck, on ebay looking to see what kind of savings I can get. Of course some things you might not care for but in this case, the idiot posted pics of a go pro type helmet strap with the clip type securing system. So looking at the imagaes, one would think it was the same style but it is not!

So I order it, along with another actual go pro strap from another seller for the $11. Go pro is what is says from that seller, forgot who at this moment. But the Borasell strap comes and it is the stupid strap through buckle style I was trying to avoid. Damn, not a deal after all seeing the seller is an ass hole advertising with images he should not be using that are deceiving.

So I look up some videos on how to mount this piece of crap! Some morons showing how to attach it but settling for the bouncing, vibrating, shaking camera on top of the helmet. Really, you ass holes actually have the nerve to post that lousy crap on youtube as instructional videos. Really? If I used my strap like that on my recorder, I would not be able to use any of the footage. If I used it with my light on my helmet, I'd probably crash or blind oncoming drivers. Wow, people amaze me settling for crap!

So I am about to toss the strap but stick it in my bike light box with the other mounts.Give it a couple of days to think.

OK, so the morons on youtube attach the straps threaded through the buckle the way it is shipped ot them, and threaded by the mfg'er. NOW THIS DIDN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME WHEN I WAS TRYING TO FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. The instructions of the other videos on youtube. Some moron with like 10,000 views on his stupid instructions and like 100 thank you comments from people who were satisfied with the shaky shit. Really? Shaky video, your're happy? YOU guys must be morons too ha ha!

So I start thinking why are the instructional videos pulling the straps across and toward the middle of the helmet? Doesn't make sense! You bump your hands, straps together or you it is not possible to pull toward the recorder or light once it is mounted. The go pro pulls the straps toward the outside.

That's it! I have to remove the straps from their original origin and place them so that they reverse directions and pull toward the outside. SO I did it and it works much better.

Also, I see that the cheap mount doesn't have a rubber backing on it. Well damn! I have this old pair of sandals that I tossed on the upper shelf in the closet for later if I ever needed something of rubber to use as shims for the go pro mounts or something of the sort. So hey, I pull them down and see the rubber on the bottom has a pattern. So I cut a little piece so that one channel is in the center of the rubber block/pad. Perfect seating on the peak of the helmet vent cross bar of the helmet. Not flat spots on top of the helmet, so this v shape will sit perfectly.

I cut it out then also another in the cross direction just in case I can use it that way. Cut about 1 inch square to fit between the straps. Now I can glue it but I chose to just insert it between the helmet and the buckle mount and tighten the straps to squeeze it keeping in place, for now. I tried it and it worked. I'll glue it later if I feel like it but it works anyway. Just keeping options open for now.

So I reversed the straps so that I could pull in a direction that makes sense, insert a rubber block with a v cut out to fit the shape of the helmet peak, and all is good! I can shake my head violently forward and backward, left to right, and no play or slop like the other instructional videos. So unless you're trying to shake your head so hard you get a migraine on the bike, this is perfect.

I guess I just don't get people, I have also read many reviews on parts such as those little alum connectors for go pro, extension, arms whatever you want to call them. I read one bad review  a part that said the threads are on the wrong side. REALLY!? The part is symmetrical left to right other than the treads on one side. Flip it around dumb ass.

Another guy took off a couple of stars on the aluminum thumb screws because they came with a wrench to tighten them. So what's the point of buying alum screws if you don't plan to use them to secure your recorder properly? Wow!

So this is my video on the helmet strap and how I threaded the strap to correct the problem, and the little rubber block. Only makes sense after having a couple of go pro straps that actually work as designed.

Solo Like A Cholo Whirlwind Ride on SART

Thought it would be a nice ride today but nope! Freaking wind, whirlwinds on the return. I had an easy 16.5 by the time I reached the coast, after 31 miles or so. So thinking a 17.0 with a tailwind for the last 14 miles or so, should be easy. NOPE!

43 solo miles at 16.5 average speed. Same as at the coast but I had to fight pretty hard to keep it! Stinking wind on the way back. Don't get me wrong, I like riding in the wind but just disappointed wanting a 17.0 today. But the freaking wind was hard, not sure if it shifted but one of those days that it is windy both ways. Heck, a  couple of whirlwinds on the way back throwing dirt in my face. The further I got back, the harder it seemed. Now that sucked hoping the wind would die down then I could pick it up. NOPE, never happened!

But I did run into Dave at the coast. With his daughter. Hadn't seen Dave in years. He was part of the Bob & Dave Duo that we saw frequently on the trail. But I guess Bob moved so they don't see each other much at all any longer. Good thing was Dave had his daughter out there riding. I think it had to be a 25 miler starting from Orangewood. Good to see Dave again. Sadly he had some medical problems, same as my Mom. Diverticulitis. Heck, did I spell that correctly? :-O

So anyway, he had a major op to take care of it. The one that the docs were afraid to perform on my  Mom when she got sick thinking she would not make it. So for Dave to go through that and be on a bicyclist, Bad Man Dave! New name for Dave cause that is totally awesome to go through that and have the determination to get back on the bike.

So anyway, a reminder today of how much I actually like riding alone. I like riding with the group for fun but riding solo, can't beat it. Riding with the group is fun like I say but it gets old. I love the freedom of doing what I want, when I want, at my will.

New seat pack, well a few years old but never used it. Mine started tearing so I slapped this sucker on. I think it slowed me down in the wind, it is so big ha ha!

Early in the ride, dark. But that changed rather quickly!

Dave and his daughter. Sorry I don't remember her name. :-O

After the ride. A little beat and disappointed, but the wind ha ha!

Still not sure why the female types see a need to go into a little stall together. There ought to be a law against that ha ha!

Life Behind Bars

So I was expecting a go pro accessory in the mail, cheap $10 handle from China. So I get this package and can tell it is a t shirt. I got a free can opener/wrench from one vendor so I'm thinking it might be a T from one of the ebay store sellers, I dunno!

But it has my name on it and I order my stuff under Gina's name since I don't carry cards, or even money for that matter ha ha! So ti can't be from one of the ebay stores from which I order. So I open it and it's from my daughter Sarah. She's the one who gave me a few bike shirts for Christmas. She finds the cool t shirts for me knowing the passion ha ha!

But how cool is that? Life Behind Bars! :-P

Half Group Ride on SART

26 miles at 17.0 average speed. Erik tried to get a ride going so I figured it would be a good idea to take Gina to see how she did around the other gals. She did great! We rode with them to the coast but did the return alone, just the 2 of us. Kind of windy but not too bad.

Gina was happy and did really well. The group tends to start out a bit unorganized so we just sat back and watched what was going on. Then after a few miles, a warm up, and seeing what was going on, we took the front and set the pace. Kept it pretty well together while trying to set a steady pace so all could stay on. I think the other gals were having a bit of a problem for a bit but they caught on and were doing well.

Well, the final 1/4 mile (?) Erik took the front and picked it up a bit. He said he saw me fading, the last 1/4 ??? OK, anyway, he got up front and picked up the effort.  He ended up dropping the other 2 women but Gina stayed on. I know when it gets windy the effort increases but anybody who knows me, knows if I can pull for the entire length of the trail, the final 1/4 ain't going to hurt ha ha! Anyway I guess Erik felt like getting in front and my plan of keeping all together was blown at the end. Gina heard Erik say he saw me fading so he took the front. Later Gina told me, you weren't fading, he just wanted to get in front at that point. But that happens too often with other riders. I have my thoughts, like you can't fail now so.........

Anyway, it was good to roll back doing our thing! We had a 16.4 at the coast so the tailwind helped us get the 17.0 we were talking about but not expecting. Either way, a good ride once you figure out what the others are doing. Well, I like to get in front and set the pace so I know what we're doing ha ha! Works for me!

Gina and I are a Trek family ha ha!

Just sitting on the back of the group waiting

Sitting in the back thinking, WTH ha ha!
