43.6 miles at 17.1 average speed with Tony. Pretty good pace and a nice day. Warm but not overly hot. We took off at a conversation pace then later, turning into the wind, picked it up. Pretty much have to riding against the wind. Taking turns we did a good pace. I like to go steady at a pace, this day it was 17 which is good against the wind. But just about everytime TC got in front, the pace lifted to 19+. Really hard to recover having to race up and close a gap or lift a pace after you're tired from a turn at the front. I think a big part was that though Mark and I didn't do a really hard pace, my legs were already tired from again, fighting the wind but on SGRT. TC and I were on SART.
But I managed to keep on though suffering some. I guess that makes you stronger, but you know what? If hurts ha ha ha! On the return, TC set out at a lower pace warming the legs got back up but I took off a bit faster. But waited at the bridge seeing I forgot to turn on my light, perfect chance. So we rolled back pretty well but holding 19, TC would pick it up to 23, ouch. I was suffering but knew after a bit, he would slow some then I would recover. It worked but I suffered and hopefully, made me stronger ha ha ha!
TC slowed a bit before the end cooling down but I kept the pace wanting to keep a 17.0. I went a little bit more hoping to keep it but then saw it click up to 17.1, I'll take it ha ha ha! A little suffering with tired legs but a great workout and we're better for it. TC slowed down so our averages would be different on Strava.

Did an easy 24 mile ride but...... the day after a good effort, the Damn Dam climb is always a tough chore. 😄 Just a cruise to relax the legs. 😁 Must be heat acclimated. High of 96, and 90 degrees while riding but felt like 65 degrees. 😛
As far as my HR.
